This challenge is my longest walk yet: To walk from John O'Groats to Lands End, 1,200 miles in aid of two worthy causes. 1. 'New Hope Ashton' - A charity which helps people coming off addictions of various kinds and generally wanting to improve their lives. 2. Projects providing fresh water by sinking water wells in the third world.

Thanks to St Patrick's church work party in Patterdale for agreeing to let me sleep in their church hall and also to David and Marcia from Penrith Methodist church for their offer of help. It was nice speaking to you both this morning. Apart from Eccleston and Frodsham I now have accommodation sorted from Carlisle down to Chester (16 days).
