This challenge is my longest walk yet: To walk from John O'Groats to Lands End, 1,200 miles in aid of two worthy causes. 1. 'New Hope Ashton' - A charity which helps people coming off addictions of various kinds and generally wanting to improve their lives. 2. Projects providing fresh water by sinking water wells in the third world.

We arrived safely in Nampa, Idaho, on Monday and are gradually getting our body clocks used to a different time zone. Today we went on a three hour walk along the green belt and around some fishing lakes called Wilson's Springs. The plan is to try and do some walking every other day whilst here on holiday. We are staying with our daughter and son in law and their two young boys and enjoying spending time with them.
I am now concentrating on publicising and fund raising for the walk and hope to have another article in the local paper.

Looking forward now to my rapidly approaching visit to Idaho, USA, to spend time with my daughter and son in law and their two boys, Elliot and Reuben. This time in a fortnight we will be nearly there! We are planning on doing lots of walking while we are there in preparation for THE WALK which will start a few weeks after we arrive back in GB.
I am in the final stages of planning the accommodation and continue to have excellent response from those I speak to, thanks to Andrew who has today sent an e-mail to confirm his offer of help in Chepstow. I am looking forward to meeting everyone.
My next focus is now the fund raising as I publicize the event and encourage people to help raise money for the charities. I have already about £3,000 and am aiming for £10,000 Anyone reading this who would like to contribute please get in touch.
